Boom ID Esports, entering the tournament ESL One Birmingham 2020 SEA Online, were looking as one of the strongest team. Having won all their series against SEA giants like Fnatic, TNC Predator and Geek Fam. Boom ID is topping the group stage, and it just seems as though no teams will be able to put a stop to this giant, much like how Team Secret dominated the Europe scene.
Reality Rift, on the other hand, had lost all their series in this tournament. Both Reality Rift and TNC Predator were the 2 bottom 2 teams in the tournament, losing games after gaming.
Going into the series against Boom ID, many would expect an easy 2-0 score for Boom ID Esports as Reality Rift had a total 0% winrate in this tournament. With 0 victory under their belt, Reality Rift is looking very close to getting eliminated
Going into Game 1, Alacrity got himself Templar Assassin and it proves to be a disaster for team Boom ID. Although Boom ID did a good job trying to delay the game, giving Dreamocel Faceless Void the time he needs to farm up, Reality Rift continuously force high ground even after losing heroes all around. Dreamocel was eventually forced to teleport back to defend base with limited items, and at that point Reality Rift was just too big. GG was eventually called by Boom ID, making it Reality Rift's first win in the entire tournament.
In Game 2, Boom ID had the chance to switch things up. They opt for heroes with high mobility to catch Reality Rift lineup, and they punished Reality Rift real hard for their Shadow fiend pick. Shadow Fiend just could not escape the catch of Boom ID, every single time he get burst down within seconds. Reality Rift had not chance of winning against the lineup of Boom ID. Reality Rift, however, did a good job trying to get the lower the gold lead Boom ID had, but Boom ID heroes are just much stronger than Reality Rift even when the gold differences is not too much. Reality Rift was forced to call GG and opt for the 3rd game in the series.
In the last game, Reality Rift realised that they have to end things quickly. They picked up Alacrity Ember Spirit, allowing him to wreck havoc around the map, giving no space to Dreamocel to farm up. The game ended with Reality Rift dominating the game 3-20 score, Alacrity alone, takes 14 of the kills to himself.
Reality Rift finally found their right playstyle it seems, at least in this tournament. Let's hope that they can continue to do well, and play some amazing Dota for the fans out there. They had a date with TNC Predator tomorrow. Let's see if they can stand up to the test.
