Valve to increase Dota 2 Battle Pass leveling speed due to negative feedback

After much excitement on the release of The International 10 compendium, fans were not delight for the most obvious reason; Valve newly released compendium’s Arcana can never be attained without spending money on levelling up your battle pass levels. Not only that, the rewards given per levels compared to previous years decreased, it requires more levels to get the same rewards.

These led to an increase in complaints made towards Valve, fans are not satisfied that Valve is only interested in making money instead of making Dota 2 a better game. Some even complaint that players these days have lesser money due to the Covid-19 pandemic happening around the world.

Valve released a statement earlier explaining that they have run some numbers and research and identify that players earned an average of 1.95% more free levels in 2020 as well as 7.91 more free levels compared to last year. Fans argued that it is due to the fact that people have more time now compared to last time, and these values will inevitably be higher as compared to last year as people spend more time gaming compared to last year.

After some consideration, Valve later announced that they will be making some changes to TI10 compendium. See the newest update here;

  1. 1. Wagering battle point rewards are now increased by 50%

  2. 2. Guild contract battle point rewards are now increase by 100 percent

  3. 3. Side shop gold for recycling is increased by 65%

  4. 4. Side shop gold for guild contracts and upgrades are increase by 100%

There will be further potential update if the community continues to voice out their unhappiness.
